I'm very pleased with the result of my recent promotion on Amazon. The Kindle edition of Eon's Door was free for two days and many people in North America, the U.K., Germany, and France took advantage of the offer. 1050 in fact!

The result has been a big bump in the book's rank. At the time of this post it holds the #39 position for all of fantasy in Amazon.com's Kindle Store, and #16 in Children's eBooks - Sci Fi, Fantasy and Magic! I've seen similar results on Amazon U.K.

With the surge, paid sales are way up and I can't wait to see what happens once the people who downloaded a free copy tell their friends how much they liked the book. And they will; of that I'm confident. The one cardinal rule that I made sure I followed before I published was to write a good book. And although I'm not where I want to be yet, I might be moving in that direction. Time will tell.

On Thursday, January 19th at 6:30 pm I will be at Smiths Falls Collegiate Institute's Scholastic Book Fair to do a reading from my debut young adult fantasy, Eon's Door. I'll be giving away a copy of my book following the reading and will also have copies for sale.
